Albanian diaspora activist in Germany, Petrit Tafaj, invited to the studio News24, has analyzed the civic resistance that has been ongoing for more than 75 consecutive days in Tirana against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government cabinet.
During his speech, Tafaj praised the sustainability of the rally and the diversity of messages conveyed every day by citizens on the protest platform:
"The protest has a consistency and diversity in people's speeches, everyone presents it as they think and reason, and I find it interesting. The main thing is to continue and the demands must be unstoppable. Protest is a necessary tool, it is a political demand."
The activist from Germany articulated strong accusations against the executive branch, describing the government not only as corrupt, but also as a cabinet that tortures its citizens. Regarding the responsibility of the Prime Minister and the position of the legislators in the Assembly, he stated:
"This government is not only corrupt but it tortures its citizens. Rama has only one way, prison, in the context of being held accountable for all his actions. I am concerned about the lack of morality of Albanian MPs. Going to parliament and raising your cards so as not to miss the opportunity to become an MP again seems immoral to me."
