Activist Edison Lika, from the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, has called for the resignation of Edi Rama, stating that the civic movement has not stopped despite efforts to quell it.
"Rama is gone with August. The beginning of September will not only mark a drop in temperatures, but will also pack Rama's suitcases from power. Resign!", said Lika. He stated that efforts to stop the protest have produced, according to him, the opposite effect.
"I did everything to extinguish this protest, but it lit the fire of hope for Albanians. They cannot extinguish this fire," the activist said. Lika also accused the government of trying to divide the protesters, dividing them into different groups.
"They have tried every kind of division, to divide us into every kind of grouping, but we are more united than ever against this regime," he declared. The activist further emphasized that the protesters are united by many common causes, singling out the National Anthem, with which, according to him, every protest opens.
