The well-known rapper from Peja, Besart Kelmendi, known to the public by the stage name Gjesti, was arrested on Wednesday in Pristina.
He was taken to the police station on suspicion of possessing an unlicensed weapon.
The news was confirmed to the media in Kosovo by the Kosovo Police, through the Information Office of this institution.
"Today, at around 15:00, on Mehmet Isahi Street in Pristina, the Police arrested a person suspected of illegal possession of weapons. The suspect was interviewed and, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, was taken into custody for 48 hours," the Kosovo Police Information Office said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the case continues to be handled by the competent authorities.
