A red alert for food safety has been raised in Europe, while the case has also affected the Albanian market. A frozen soup product, produced in Italy and widely consumed, has been ordered to be withdrawn from the market after it was considered to pose a serious risk to the health of consumers.
The product in question is "MINESTRONE 16 Verdure", frozen vegetables weighing 750 grams, with lot number L03DK and expiration date June 30, 2028.
The alert was issued after a consumer found a potentially dangerous foreign body inside the packaging. Following this report, the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) has activated the maximum risk level notification, classifying the product as a serious threat to health.
According to publicly available data, this product was imported into Albania on May 14, 2026 by the entity "PRONATYRA TREG". The entire imported quantity was distributed and sold at two retail outlets in Tirana.
After the notification of the product's withdrawal from the market arrived, it turned out that the entire imported quantity had been sold.
Authorities are urging citizens who have purchased this product with lot number L03DK and still have it in the refrigerator not to consume it. The product should be returned immediately to the point of purchase.
