The attack on Iran has entered its second week. Explosions continue to rock the region, and there seems to be no ceasefire in sight.

Military analyst and former Croatian admiral Ivica Mandic spoke about the war in the Middle East for dnevnik.hr.

Asked if the war was expected to last that long, Mandic replied that US President Donald Trump had previously announced this. "The structure of the Iranian armed forces is such that you cannot complete such an operation without operational action, this is not possible. The number of targets is large," he said.

"What has been achieved so far in the context of air superiority is the destruction of the entire navy, and targeting targets belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard will require another 10-15 days. It is very likely that the air campaign will be accelerated, there are economic reasons for this," he added.

In recent days, speculation has been circulating about the possible involvement of American ground forces.

"Here we should remember the NATO attack on Serbia. The problem is not, nor the desire, to come and occupy Iran. What do you need this for? The problem is to change the regime and its future. In this sense, the use of ground forces is completely unnecessary," he said.

According to Mandiq, Iran should be aware that US and Israeli strength could withstand this type of operation for an extremely long time.
