The water source and irrigation canal in the village of Mirakë in the Municipality of Librazhd has returned to full function, serving residents for the irrigation of agricultural lands.
The intervention of the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT) came after a complaint from a group of residents from Miraka, Xibraka and Polisi, who denounced the damage to the canal through illegal works.
After field verifications, IKMT inspectors found that the citizen with the initials MH had placed plastic pipes in the canal and carried out concrete work, narrowing the diameter of the water passage and preventing its normal flow.
According to IKMT, the works were carried out without the relevant permission from state institutions.
After ascertaining the violation, IKMT carried out administrative procedures and intervened to restore the canal to its previous condition. Upon completion of the intervention, the canal has returned to function and now serves the residents of the three villages for the irrigation of their lands.
