The American side has informed a number of European countries that arms supplies will be delayed due to the military operation in Iran.
The news was reported by Reuters, citing other sources.
"According to reports, supply disruptions will affect several European Union countries, including the Baltic and Scandinavian countries. In official correspondence, representatives of the US administration indicated that the armed conflict with Iran continues to deplete US reserves, therefore it is temporarily impossible to fully fulfill previously reached agreements on supplies," Reuters noted.
The agency said the White House administration is concerned that the US military-industrial complex will not be able to meet growing demand against the backdrop of the conflict in the Middle East. In this regard, the possibility of reducing the volume of supplies to individual buyers around the world is being considered.
Recall that the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28. As a result, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and a number of senior officials were killed. After that, Iran began striking targets it had identified in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq and Cyprus, where the US and its allies have military bases, in addition to Israel. After the Lebanese group Hezbollah entered the war on the Iranian side by firing missiles and drones at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, where the group's infrastructure is located. Israel also expanded its ground operation into southern Lebanon.
Iran, the United States, and their allies agreed to a two-week ceasefire on the night of April 8, 2026. On April 11-12, talks between Iran and the United States were held in Islamabad, mediated by Pakistan. The talks, which lasted for hours, ended inconclusively due to differences in the parties' positions.
