Erion Braçe invited to the show "This Week" on News24 has spoken openly about the most important issues in Tirana, focusing on political debates, urban well-being, public services, and the current situation in the capital.
During the interview, Braçe said that Tirana is not being governed today. During the interview, the socialist MP also expressed criticism towards Anuela Ristani, for whom he said that she should lower her tone because Tirana is in a very critical situation and that she is not at the service of the citizens.
"For the citizens, Tirana leaves a lot to be desired, starting with cleanliness. And for tourists as well. Now they are living with us. So there should be an even greater incentive for cleanliness in the capital, but cleanliness does not work. I understand the irritation of the lady who is in the municipality of Tirana, but she needs to lower her tone, I no longer communicate because I have no time to waste. The loss of governance in relation to public services also brings about the loss of citizens in relation to these services," he said.
Excerpts from the studio interview;
questions: If it happened in a race and you lost, would you publicly support the other candidate?
Erion Brace: I support any candidate who comes from a democratic process, but I am not ready to support a candidate who does not come from a democratic process within the SP. I do not violate the principles with which the SP was built. Moving away from those principles is moving away from the people and whoever does not understand this, does not understand what can come next. I am not ready to support any candidate who does not come from a democratic process. In the general local elections, a process must be done. This city lacks commitment. Unfortunately, Tirana is to some extent not livable for the middle class because it is suffering from an economic point of view. We need an economy in this city. Tirana today is Albania and it needs genuine policies, a productive economy, an agricultural economy… Endless construction is not development, neither economic nor urban nor as a solution to the housing problem. And we are not building ethically.
