The Russian Ambassador to Norway, Nikolai Korchunov, warned that NATO activities near Russian strategic facilities on the Kola Peninsula pose a risk of direct military confrontation.
In an interview with TASS, the diplomat stated that the approach of military infrastructure and attack systems of NATO countries to Russian borders is a threat to Russia's national security.
He assessed that the Alliance's "confrontational actions" regarding Russia's strategic potential in the Arctic region undermine regional and global stability, increasing the risk of unintended escalation and possible direct conflict.
