Gjekmarkaj's post
The academic and valued friend Sabri Hamiti was honored yesterday with the title of “Doctor Honoris Causa” by the University of Tirana. This award represents a well-deserved recognition for a distinguished personality of our nation, who has made extraordinary contributions in the fields of Albanology, critical studies and poetry. As a profound thinker and a unique creator, Sabri Hamiti has strongly influenced the formation of Albanian literary and cultural thought.
Beyond the academic dimension, Sabri Hamiti was one of the founders of the state of Kosovo, a personality and ideologist who dedicated his life to national freedom and the ideal of Kosovo's independence!
He paid a high price for this path, but he did it with full awareness and dedication to the national cause. As a lifelong friend and fellow traveler of the historic president Ibrahim Rugova, Hamiti remains a symbol of wisdom, perseverance, and vision for a democratic and civilized society.
By awarding this high title, the University of Tirana showed not only appreciation for the work of a great man, but also a high level of institutional and cultural emancipation. This act honors the knowledge, culture and spiritual unity of Albanian universities throughout the entire nationwide space. It is a tribute to a life dedicated to the service of the nation and an inspiring example for the new generations of Albanian researchers and creators.
