Former Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces, Captain Artur Meçollari, invited to "Oponencje", stated that in order to implement Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's $1.4 billion project on the islands of Sazan and Zvërnec, the government must invest 300 million euros.
According to Meçollari, this cost is due to the lack of water, energy and roads on Sazan. He adds that the concession contract requires the Albanian state to carry out infrastructure investments in roads and energy on the island.
"There is no water in Sazan, it has to come from Uji i Ftohtë, 20 km away and the pipes have to go to the sea, or it has to be distilled, but investments are needed," said Captain Artur Meçollari.
Artur Meçollari: A year ago, Ivanka Trump said that the project has logistical problems. According to the concession law, the government must provide water. There is no water in Sazan, it must come from Cold Water, 20 km away and the pipes must go to the sea, or it must be distilled, but investments are needed.
There is no electricity, there used to be a telephone line. The roads need to be built, there are no roads in Sazan. It is in a pristine state. The issue of waste needs to be sorted out, from the images that have emerged it seems that construction will be done in the eastern part. It is the worst part, it is steep and lies on the sea, it is very windy there.
There is no feasibility study, the project was done according to a model in Ulcinj.
