Today, March 7, Teachers' Day is celebrated, a symbolic day dedicated to honoring and appreciating teachers for their contribution to the education and formation of new generations.
In the show "This Week" in News24Professor Bardhyl Musai stated that the education system in our country has numerous problems and the pedagogical model that is followed is outdated.
"We have an old pedagogical model based on reproduction, and it considers reproduction as a result, so the student is evaluated by the fidelity of the reproduction of knowledge.
The outdated model must be changed. The problem is systemic throughout the system. But there are teachers and individuals who work with dedication and see the student outside the system", he said.
The professor also spoke about his publication "The Culture of Thinking in Albanian Schools, a Manifesto for Education", where he stated that it is a deep analysis of the education system, which highlights problems and some evident contradictions. On the other hand, he stated that he has also conducted an analysis of educational policies and addresses the issue of thinking.
"I received the impetus for the manifesto from the system, this is not an accusation against the system, but a call for a broad dialogue so that we can all contribute to improving the situation. It does not provide magic recipes but calls for dialogue. Our school must teach students to think", he said.
