Frequent temperature changes during January have significantly increased the number of people affected by seasonal viruses in Dibra. According to the pediatrician at the Dibra Regional Hospital, Filip Cfarku, in 24 hours, about 120 people affected by seasonal viruses present themselves in the emergency room. According to Cfarku, 50 cases present themselves in the pediatric emergency room and 70 cases in the adult emergency room. The pediatrician says that the number is high compared to previous years, while the infection curve is expected to decrease in February.
On the other hand, the pediatrician says that parents make two mistakes when their child is exposed to seasonal viruses. According to him, taking them directly to the regional hospital as soon as the symptoms of the virus begin and keeping a child with a fever at home for too long is wrong. He advises that parents should first send their children to their family doctor, who will then refer them to a specialist if necessary.
Even though cases are numerous these days, there is no bed load in the pediatric ward at the Dibër Regional Hospital.
