The Chairman of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, met closely with the farmer from Divjaka who a few days ago had a confrontation with Prime Minister Edi Rama, who ignored the voice of this citizen at the meeting organized by the Ministry of Agriculture for the national support scheme for 2026.
The video of Prime Minister Edi Rama's reaction was widely shared in the media and went viral for the arrogance with which he addressed the farmer to silence his voice, while he was heard saying "we are the most vulnerable group."
"Today I came to meet the farmer from Divjaka, because I found it unacceptable that the Prime Minister of the country did not even deign to listen to the honest worker and arrogantly ordered him: Sit down, sit down!", says Shehaj. During the meeting, the farmer named Lili raised his voice about the concerns that farmers face today regarding the lack of support, funds, but also the problem of the prices at which imported products come to Albania, causing the goods of Albanian farmers to remain in stock or be thrown away without having the opportunity to enter the market.
"I came to listen to Lili. And through this conversation, let everyone hear his plight, which is actually the plight of hundreds of farmers who see their hard work go to waste, while EU funds for agriculture end up with friends of the government," says Shehaj. In the conversation with the leader of the Opportunity Party, the farmer explains that 80% of the European Union funds have been taken by those in power and only a few farmers have benefited from them due to the acquaintances they may have had.
Farmer: These IPARDs and these, whoever supports them will get them. I won't get them.
Shehaj: You won't take them? Why won't you take them?
Farmer: No, I told the prime minister: look at the AZHBR list, 80% of it is owned by those in power.
Shehaj: 80% of IPARD funds?
Farmer: And 20%, if it could be any farmer, it would be a spondalist, "because I have a friend like you or I have that one" spondalist could be any farmer.
Shehaj: 80% are in power?
Farmer: The authorities.
Shehaj: The authorities. Here, you said this, what Rama said.
The farmer: “Lower your voice, sit down,” he said. “Sit down, sit down!”
The leader of Mundësia, Agron Shehaj, respectfully praised the farmer's courage to tell the truth to the country's prime minister about the real concerns that citizens face today. He called on all citizens not to give up and not to be afraid of the arrogance of those in power, but to raise their voices about what is troubling them in their daily lives. "The prime minister has other worries and has no time for farmers, but this gentleman deserves respect. Because he dared, stood up and told his truth. Everyone should do this!", Shehaj emphasizes.
