A terrifying incident has been recorded in the city of Wroclaw, Poland, where a lightning bolt struck a fountain while small children were playing near it.

The incident was captured on security cameras. The footage shows the moment lightning strikes the fountain's central sprinkler, while just a few meters away, children continue to run and play with the water.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident. However, the lightning caused significant damage to the electrical and lighting system that powers the fountain's multimedia shows, forcing authorities to suspend all special shows until further notice.

The Multimedia Fountain, located next to the Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia), a UNESCO-protected monument, is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Wroclaw, known for its spectacular water, light and music shows.

According to its operators, lightning struck the central part of the sprinkler system, burning out a number of electronic and mechanical components. Due to the complexity of the installation, repairs are expected to take several weeks, as damaged parts must be replaced.
