The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has held meetings with Police structures in Korça, Tirana and Dibër, where he has requested the intensification of work to crack down on criminal groups, the capture of persons who move with weapons or drugs, as well as the arrest of wanted citizens.
The focus of the meetings was initially on the safety of students on the eve of the start of the new school year. Hita requested that the leaders of local structures personally monitor the implementation of measures to guarantee the security perimeter of schools and the smooth running of the learning process.
Also, it has been requested to intensify controls inside and outside the school security perimeter, with the aim of identifying and cracking down on persons who may incite students to engage in criminal activity.
During the meetings, Hita asked local and border structures to strengthen the fight against serious crimes, illegal possession of weapons, narcotics and criminal groups. He also called for proactive investigations to combat border crimes and trafficking.
Another priority raised was improving Police performance and communication with citizens, while increasing road safety and more effective use of technology to prevent accidents were also requested.
Finally, the Director General of the State Police emphasized the importance of increasing citizens' trust in the Police. According to him, this trust can be strengthened through the intensification of work, commitment and use of human resources to address and resolve citizens' concerns that are addressed to the Police through the co-governance platform and official addresses.
