Due to snowfall, traffic has become difficult on several road axes, mainly in the mountainous areas of the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and Saranda.
The Traffic Police and General Patrol Services are on the ground to prevent accidents and to assist road users in case of need.
The police are cooperating with road owners and contracting companies to clear the roads of snow and distribute salt. The work of clearing and salting the roads continues intensively.
At Qafë Thanë, trucks will not be allowed to pass (about 2-3 hours) until the road is cleared by snowplows on Macedonian soil.
The Traffic Police appeals to drivers to: be careful while driving, respect road signs, equip themselves with snow chains and winter tires, and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police services.
