The strong storm that has engulfed the coastal area of ​​Saranda has caused problems for several vessels, forcing the intervention of the Border Police. The Saranda Border Police Commissariat has intervened in 8 cases to rescue vessels at sea, helping their drivers and avoiding more serious situations.

According to official information, three vessels received assistance in the Bunec area and were then transported to the port of Limjon. Meanwhile, two other vessels faced difficulties due to the storm near Cape Qefali. The Border Police boat BP 11 intervened to rescue them, while one of the vessels was towed to the port of Limjon.

Another vessel, which was in danger of sinking in the Gulf of Saranda, has been withdrawn from service and has been anchored in the port of Saranda. Also, two vessels have received assistance in the area called “Pema e Thatë” in Ksamil. As a result of the force of the storm, two boats that were anchored in the port of Limjon have been moved about 100 meters from the shore and then sank.

The Saranda Border Police continues patrolling at sea with all vessels, to react to any emergency situation or possible breakdown.
