As a result of investigations and intensive operational work, carried out with the aim of preventing and cracking down on illegal activities at the border, and specifically the criminal activity of providing assistance, in exchange for money, to immigrants who intend to illegally travel to EU countries, the structures of the Korça DVKM organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Itinerary 2".

As part of the operation, citizen MJ, 24 years old, resident of Darfur, Sudan, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

This citizen was arrested by the Border Police services in the place called "Fusha e Parë", above the village of Drenovë, Korçë, after investigative actions and information obtained through operational means, it is suspected that he helped 6 immigrants to cross illegally from Greece into the territory of Albania.

Work is underway to identify and bring to justice other citizens involved in this illegal activity.

Also, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Korça DVKM referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of "Illegal crossing of the state border", against citizen OC, 30 years old, resident of Elbasan, as he is suspected of having crossed illegally into Greece.

The procedural materials for these cases were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
