Officials in the Afghan government formed by the radical Taliban movement have banned women from going to mosques to perform collective prayers, according to the Etilaatroz newspaper.
According to sources in Herat province, information about the new restrictions was conveyed to the population orally, through imams.
From now on, women are also not allowed to attend Friday prayers in the mosque, although previously there were separate rooms set up for them.
