A video posted on social media highlights the stark contrast between Edi Rama's rhetoric when he was in opposition and the reality of education during his years in power. About 15 years ago, during speeches at protests and rallies, Rama described teachers as "the most beloved being for children" and "the most essential pillar of a democratic society," strongly condemning any kind of political pressure or threat against them.

However, wiretaps of election files published by the German media BILD show a completely different picture after his rise to power. In the audio recordings, senior education officials and majority political representatives are heard directly blackmailing and threatening school principals and teachers.

The wiretaps reveal clear orders to declare their and their family members' votes "openly for the Socialist Party", accompanied by direct threats of dismissal from their jobs such as "I'll tell you where you're flying on Monday".
