United States President Donald Trump has expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in talks with Iran, following negotiations held yesterday in Oman, announcing that contacts between the two parties will continue "early next week."
Speaking to reporters accompanying him on Air Force One, Trump described the talks as "very good," noting that Tehran appears ready to advance toward a deal.
"We had very good talks on Iran. Iran seems to be very eager to make a deal. We'll have to see what that deal is, but I think Iran is very interested in moving forward," the US president said.
Military pressure and warnings of consequences
At the same time, Trump underlined that the United States is maintaining a strong military presence in the region, increasing pressure on Iran within the framework of negotiations.
"We have a large army, a large fleet that is heading towards the region. They will be there very soon. We will see how the situation develops," he said.
The US president also confirmed that talks will resume soon, sending a direct message to Tehran regarding the potential consequences if a deal is not reached.
"We will meet again early next week. The Iranians want to make a deal, right. They know the consequences if they don't. If a deal isn't made, the consequences will be great," Trump stressed.
