Iranian media reported on Saturday an explosion in eastern Tehran, causing concern among residents of the area, while authorities have not yet given an official explanation for the event.

According to Iran's Fars news agency, a loud explosion was heard in the eastern part of the Iranian capital. State media also confirmed that the explosion was heard in eastern Tehran province.

Residents of the Pakdast and Qiyamdast areas said they heard the explosion, but its exact location or cause has not yet been announced. However, Fars, citing an official, reported that the noises were related to a controlled operation to dispose of explosive materials, suggesting that it was not an attack or a sudden incident.

Iranian authorities have not reported any casualties or material damage, and more details are expected to be released later.
