In the show "This Week" in "News24", Agron Haxhimali, executive director of the "Institute for Municipalities", spoke about territorial reform and the situation in the country.

He also touched on the meeting held in four districts, which he said is a good and positive indication. But he also said that in his view, this is an issue where the participants should not be instrumentalized.

He further emphasized that citizens have had continuous complaints regarding the lack of representation and services. Therefore, he emphasized that in these hearings there should be no left or right, but the voice of citizens should be heard.

"In the political dimension, I have a very good assessment of the positive climate between the majority and the opposition, between the co-chairs. For me, it is a message that for such reforms we must be tolerant, cooperative. And what I have not seen as positive is the instrumentalization of the participants. Because I would never like them to be divided, here left and right. I have been critical and have expressed, this is not the style, this is not the style that suits Albania in 2026, we should not instrumentalize the participants. And in the civic part, the most frequent complaints since the first meeting in Lezha, Gjirokastër, Elbasan and Vlora, citizens, whether left or right, are not satisfied with services, with representation, they raise complaints from the most diverse, they want services, They want stronger municipalities, closer to them. Services have gone away, offices have gone away, we do not meet with the mayor, the councilor does not ask us, the power has gone away. So if we were to let all the citizens free, "They are not happy, they would evaluate it negatively. I said that many politicians, MPs come, they consume the time of the citizens," he said, among other things.
