Journalist Poli Hoxha, invited to the show "Studio24" in News24, commented on the recent developments between politics and justice in the country, focusing on the investigations against former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, for whom SPAK has requested the arrest.
According to Hoxha, the investigative file against Balluk is voluminous and the investigations are much more extensive than what has been made public so far.
"The 16 pages against Balluk are just the tip of the iceberg. The property investigation has progressed a lot and there are several other issues that are under investigation. Therefore, SPAK is calm," the journalist said.
He added that the SPAK leader's statements about sentences that could go up to 35 years in prison show that the investigation into the former deputy prime minister is in-depth.
Hoxha also used a metaphor to describe the relationship between corruption and justice institutions in recent years.
"It has been 10 years of coexistence between the cat and the mouse of corruption. The cat was small in 2016 and now it has grown up and is hunting the mouse. This coexistence cannot continue and we have reached a point where even fraudulent politics is facing institutions," he said.
According to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama's recent stances on this issue show that the clash between politics and justice is approaching a decisive moment.
"What Edi Rama did today is good news because he has brought the final clash with justice closer. This is not only with SPAK and GJKKO who are doing their job, but it is also a clash with their mentors, with those who have guaranteed these institutions for Albanians," said Hoxha.
