Alket Rizai has not returned to Domokos prison in Greece after his release expired, and is wanted by Greek authorities. Rizai is suspected of being involved in a bloody incident at a beach bar in Anavyssos in the early hours of Sunday, where gunfire broke out and two people were injured. Rizai was supposed to report to prison at 08:00, but did not return, triggering proceedings for his arrest. What has caught the attention of the authorities is the fact that the Albanian had been on 16 releases since 2021 and had returned to prison after each of them.

According to preliminary information , the conflict at the beach bar began after the music stopped due to the late hour. The group Rizai was in was initially inside the bar, but then went outside. Rizai allegedly went to his vehicle with the other people and turned on the music at a high volume. The owner of the bar came out to get their attention, which led to a heated argument. The situation escalated within a few moments, while passersby and employees of the bar were also at the scene.

According to sources quoted by Greek media, Rizai allegedly pulled out a gun and may have fired, possibly into the air. Then, an Afghan national, who is suspected of being connected to the security of the bar, got involved in the conflict and reportedly shot Rizai. Police are trying to determine who used the gun, how many shots were fired and in what direction they were fired. Shell casings and traces of blood were found at the scene, which are being analyzed by forensic laboratories.

A 20-year-old Greek man and a 41-year-old Pakistani man were injured in the incident. Their health conditions are expected to be one of the elements that will help investigators fully unravel the incident. The 41-year-old owner of the beach bar and his 39-year-old wife have been arrested in connection with the incident. The owner is accused, among other things, of perjury, harboring a person who has committed a criminal offense, obstruction of justice and incitement to the illegal possession and use of a weapon. His wife is accused of perjury and incitement to the illegal possession and use of a weapon. Meanwhile, Greek authorities continue the search for Alket Rizai and are investigating in detail the sequence of events to determine who started the clash and whether the incident ended in an exchange of gunfire.
