Kadri Veseli, former Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly and former member of the General Staff of the Kosovo Liberation Army, is sentenced to 18 years in prison.

During the announcement of the verdict, the panel also presented its assessments regarding Veseli's position and role.

According to the findings of the trial panel, Veseli had abused the power and position he held, using it, according to the court, for criminal purposes.

In determining the sentence, the panel also took into account Veseli's personal circumstances and his behavior during the trial.

According to the court, Veseli has shown good conduct throughout the process, with the exception of one particular instance. The court also took into account the fact that he voluntarily surrendered to the Specialist Chambers.
