Former MP Ervin Salianji, invited to "Studio24", spoke about the functioning of the Democratic Party, emphasizing that competition and internal clashes are a normal part of a party with democratic principles and should not be considered a division.

Salianji said that the DP's statute and the democratic culture of political parties require the holding of internal elections, where every candidate must face the vote.

"The DP has defined it with its statute and democratic culture that we will have elections. When there are elections, there will be clashes. I cannot say that Sali Berisha has fallen from the sky and we will come out to overthrow him. That is the concept of the mandate," he said.

He also mentioned the promises made by the leader of the Democratic Party, saying that every political leader must be held accountable for his commitments before membership.

"Berisha promised to remove Rama, remove the women's vote, promised victory in the elections, promised to elect deputies from the membership," said Salianji.

Referring to the internal debate in the DP, he emphasized that giving political arguments should not be considered divisive and that he himself is willing to withdraw if it is considered an obstacle.

"It is not divisive to give arguments. If it is seen that I am obstructing change, I will withdraw now," he concluded.
