Prime Minister Edi Rama revealed that he has received an invitation from the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to visit Washington in the coming days, in the context of the establishment of the Peace Board.
In the podcast "Flasim", Rama responded to criticism that, according to him, had questioned the existence of the invitation.
He referred to the debates in the Assembly, describing the opposition's claims as unfounded and "ridiculous."
According to Rama, Albania will not contribute financially for membership or for its position as a permanent member on this board, but will be represented through its international role and reputation.
"This week I received an invitation from the President of the United States to visit Washington in the coming days for what I warned him about, when that bunch of homemade bombs exploded and exploded in the Assembly hall, with all sorts of claims that are being made again today, ridiculous, saying that I can't go, that I wasn't invited, that, that, that...
And in fact, as I announced, I will be in Washington for the official establishment of the Peace Board and for the start of the activity of that board, where Albania has the privilege of being a founding state and where Albania will not contribute with money to join or to remain as a permanent member, but contributes with dignity and with what has made it internationally respected and invited, to this very high level of discussion on the future of peace", said Rama.
