The Supreme Court has published the final list of candidates who meet the legal requirements to be elected members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

The list was announced after the completion of the procedure for verifying the legal criteria, within the framework of the process initiated by the Supreme Court on June 26, 2026, for the election of three new members of the Supreme Court of Justice: one judge from the first instance, one from the courts of appeal and one from the Supreme Court.

Following the procedure announced by the Supreme Court on 26.06.2026, for the election of 1 (one) judge from among the judges of the court of first instance, 1 (one) judge from among the judges of the appeal court and 1 (one) judge from among the judges of the High Court, as members of the High Judicial Council, and after completing the process of verifying the fulfillment of the legal conditions, based on Law No. 115/2016 "On the governing bodies of the justice system", the Supreme Court officially announces the final list of candidates who meet the legal conditions to be elected as a member of the High Judicial Council, as follows:

▪️ Arbena Ahmeti – Supreme Court
▪️ Sandër Simoni – Supreme Court
▪️ Igerta Hysi – Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime
▪️ Fatri Islamaj – Tirana Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction
▪️ Matilda Llangozi – Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana
▪️ Brunilda Kadi – Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana
▪️ Manjola Xhaxho – Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana

At the same time, the President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, announces the date of the General Meeting of Judges for the election of members of the Supreme Judicial Council, September 25, 2026, at 10:00.
