Lawyer Alban Duraj was invited today to "Time to Wake Up" on News24, where he spoke, among other things, about the problems in the justice system, focusing on what happened to lawyer Ulian Barjami in the Elbasan Court.
Duraj explains that the boycott of the hearings continues, while expressing that he was disappointed with the reality as he expected a change of spirit with the justice reform and the new recruitment of magistrates and prosecutors.
"This week we are still boycotting criminal cases, with the exception of personal security measures. This is out of respect for the college and as a protest against the behavior of the judicial system, namely the prosecution and the court, behavior that I personally feel very insulted and disappointed by, as I was optimistic that the changes that would come from the justice reform would bring a positive spirit.
When these actions are taken by young magistrates, I feel disappointed and see the future with many questions. I think this system is at its lowest level.
"Instead of improving due to new recruitments and the establishment of new institutions, this is what happens," he said.
Duraj stated that judges and prosecutors need an annual check, while adding that a check is also needed regarding the use of narcotics.
