The father of the 2-month-old baby from Devolli, who passed away in Tirana, has recounted the difficult moments the family has gone through since the birth of the child until the tragic news of her death. According to him, the male baby was born prematurely and was initially sent for treatment in Tirana, where he stayed for about a month in an incubator. "We took him to Tirana because the baby was 7-month-old. The doctors kept him in an incubator and he stayed there for a month. Then he returned to Korça for about 10 days. Then they called us and told us to come and pick up the baby," says Arben Veshalliu.

The father says that when they took the baby from the hospital, the doctors gave them some medicine and instructions for caring for her at home. "They gave us the medicine and we gave it to her as they told us. I also gave her powdered milk, but she wasn't a baby who drank much. They didn't tell us that she had problems again, they just told us to get her out of the hospital," he says.

He says the baby's condition worsened after he wasn't feeding and was spitting up milk. "I had to take him to the hospital because he wasn't drinking milk, he was spitting it up. He didn't have a fever or any other signs," the father says.

According to him, he initially took the baby to Devoll, where doctors advised him to send him to Korça. Later, from Korça, it was decided that the baby would be transferred back to Tirana. "In Devoll, they told me to take him to Korça, while Korça sent him to Tirana. I didn't want to take him back to Tirana because we had taken him once," he says.

The baby was transported to Tirana with two nurses and taken to the “Mother Teresa” hospital. But a little later, the family received the terrible news. “When we returned to Pogradec, they called us and told us that the baby had passed away,” he says. The father says that the baby had had lung problems and an infection since birth. “The child had lung problems and an infection since birth,” he says.
