The Distribution System Operator, OST, reacted this evening after the 2-hour blackout that covered half of the areas in Tirana.

According to the OST, the cause of the power outage was a defect at around 20:30 PM, on pole 48/4, caused by an open arc.

"OST brigades, on full alert, immediately identified the defect in pole 48/4, caused by an open arc.

Meanwhile, the Traktora substation and important consumers were supplied with electricity with limited load, in cooperation with OSHEE, through the 110 kV "Elbasan - Ibë - Farkë" line.

Immediately after identifying the defect, field line brigades took measures to repair it.

In parallel, Distribution System Operator groups maneuvered reserve lines through ring schemes, with the aim of minimizing the impact on consumers.

Institutions of particular importance were supplied with electricity within a few minutes, while in some other areas the supply was restored within about 30 minutes.

At 22:09, the repair of the defect was completed and the line was restored to operation, guaranteeing full electricity supply to all consumers," the official announcement of the OST states.
