The Chairman of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has summoned the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu, to an interpellation in Parliament after the discovery of an illegal activity where citizens of European countries were being defrauded of investments in various cryptocurrencies.
In a video on social media, Shehaj says he will demand explanations from Minister Koçiu as to how it is possible that this call center in the capital was not discovered by the Albanian State Police, but by journalists in Italy, one of the countries affected by this fraud.
He has accused the Police of supporting crime and exposing SPAK's actions.
Agron Shehaj: This is the interpellation that we submitted to the Parliament to ask the Minister of Internal Affairs how it is possible that European citizens are being deceived in a tower in the middle of Tirana and this is not discovered by the State Police but is revealed by an Italian investigative show.
The reason is simple, because the Police, instead of investigating crime, supports it.
Imagine, in the middle of Tirana, two floors of this tower were occupied by Albanian citizens and foreign nationals who were defrauding victims all over Europe: Italians, Germans, French and so on.
And the Police did nothing. Not only that, but when SPAK came to collect evidence and arrest those responsible, they found none. Because clearly the operation was exposed by the Police.
This is why we have made this interpellation and are awaiting a response from the minister.
In fact, we know what's happening, the police and crime are together!
And this is the problem of justice and the problem of the rule of law in Albania.
