Through a scathing speech with satirical overtones at the Conference of Speakers, DP MP Agron Gjekmarkaj denounced the complete subservience of the majority to Edi Rama and the transformation of Parliament into a ridiculous facade. Gjekmarkaj attacked the arrogance of the government that is throwing away European integration to serve behind-the-scenes affairs and autocratic control.
Gjekmarkaj ironized the claims of the parliamentary majority by sarcastically proposing that the integration laws are “nothing short of” the new concepts with which the regime is operating. He proposed that instead of Jorida Tabaku’s demands for EU integration, the Assembly urgently approve three “high initiatives”: the “Besa” law conceived by Gysi, the “Loyal Presence” law designed by international arms broker Ron Yeffet, and the “Pasqyra” law brought by Beqiraj in a rococo style with a balloon.
While responding to Gazment Bardhi's accusations that the prime minister is violating the independence of parliamentarism, Gjekmarkaj, with extreme irony, dissected the servility of socialist MPs towards the head of government.
"You're wrong Gazment, these are making a big deal out of him and the government! Rama's pants flutter like curtains in the wind when the window is open when he passes in front of these ladies and gentlemen, this majority loves parliamentarism so much that it makes the prime minister angry without a care," the Democrat MP said.
