The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held an online communication with supporters on social networks this Saturday.
Referring to the Constitutional Court's decision that upheld Belinda Balluku's suspension from office, Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using several members of the body to overturn the GJKKO measure.
"Rama proved to Albanians that he is capable of undermining even the most fundamental process of years of political pluralism, EU integration, for his own interests. Rama forced the European chancelleries to give him the red card and move towards a decision that has not been made in the entire existence of the EU, the decision to completely undo the integration process."
Your protests have been of decisive importance as the only hope for changing the situation, because this decision is ready to be announced. Rama in the most irresponsible, anti-Constitutional and anti-legal way decided to use the Criminal Court as a shield for his thefts and the continuation of Lubi Balluku in office. His positions met with the strongest opposition from partners and the European Commission.
"He violates the interests of citizens to protect his own skin. I appreciate the stance of the judges who courageously rejected a request that was tantamount to a coup. With the 4:4 split, at least Rama's request was not approved and ended up in the trash along with Rama," he said.
