Considered one of the most powerful cocaine distributors in Saranda, after years of pursuit, 49-year-old Altin Arapi alias Altin Demiri, known by the nickname "Boraqi", has finally been arrested. Although no direct associates of his were caught in this operation, sources say that for years he has been involved with at least two other people, one of whom was previously arrested.

Confidential sources indicate that the police have had him under surveillance for years, but have had a very difficult time arresting Arap, as according to the same sources, there have often been suspicions that he had information and support from close associates within the police structures and was one step ahead of every operation. Even a failed operation against him is considered that of January 20, 2022, when the police attempted to arrest him with a quantity of drugs, but found nothing and carried out a forced arrest for resisting the police forces after, during the attempt to search him, he resisted by breaking his cell phone.

His name was later mentioned in the incident of May 2025, when a 15-year-old minor went to Saranda Hospital intoxicated with 5 grams of cocaine. One of the people questioned in this matter was Altin Arapi.

The only time Altin Arapi was arrested by the police for possession of narcotics was about 8 years ago, when, together with two other people from Saranda, he was caught in Tirana with a small amount of cocaine and spent several months in prison.

Meanwhile, another incident where his name was mentioned occurred in January 2021, when the police conducted a flash escort in Delvina and questioned a citizen, after obtaining information that he would conflict with Altin Arapi and therefore took preventive measures.

Other detainees with prior records

Several other people arrested in the "Autumn" operation conducted in Saranda also have criminal records.

Feliks Filija, 27 years old, known as Elvis Çaushllari's friend alias Vis Korçari, arrested in 2020 in Elbasan for "intentional murder" committed in collaboration and "unlicensed possession of a weapon".

Medi Myftaraj, 35 years old, arrested in September 2017 in Skrapas after being sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison by the Vlora Court for "production and sale of narcotics" and during the search of the apartment at the time of the arrest, 0.5 kg of "cannabis sativa" was found. While in March 2023 he was arrested in Ksamil with a quantity of the narcotic "cannabis sativa".

Fabjo Berhamaj, 30 years old, extradited from Germany in 2016 after being sentenced by the Fier Court to 7 years in prison for "production and sale of narcotics". With precedents also in Saranda for "illegal border crossing".

Devis Saliaj, 22 years old, stabbed on June 6, 2025 in the place called “Ekualipsi” in Saranda. Arrested in September 2023 in the Kodra e Diellit area in Tirana as part of a conspiracy to distribute “cannabis sativa” and “cocaine”. Arrested again in Tirana in December 2025.

Erjon Dido, 41 years old, known by the nickname "Macistja", arrested in October 2018 in Saranda with a quantity of the narcotic substance "cannabis sativa", prosecuted for "production and sale of narcotic substances" in December 2024 as part of a group.

Dhimitri Terolli, 33 years old, known by the nickname "Miçp evgjiti", is a user of hard narcotics. Terolli has been arrested several times by the police, mainly for "theft" and in one case for "intentional minor injury", where the injured party was another drug user.

Nazif Refitaj, 24 years old, arrested in 2021 in Patos for "theft committed in collaboration".
