50-year-old Thimjo Rubati, who was injured in the attack that took place in Saranda, is expected to be transported to Ioannina for specialized treatment due to his serious health condition. Rubati was shot in the city of Saranda, while the perpetrators are suspected of having fled on a motorbike and lost track in the "Baba Rexhepi" area, near the city cemetery. The police continue their search for the identification and capture of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, records on the 50-year-old's past show that he had recently been released from prison in Greece, where he had faced charges for a serious criminal incident.

While in prison in Greece, Rubati was also wanted in Albania for a case involving several customs officers, in connection with a suspected scheme for trafficking and smuggling of vehicles. For this case, he was sentenced by the Court of Appeal with an alternative measure, avoiding serving a prison sentence. After completing his prison term in Greece, he did not serve a prison sentence in Albania.

Investigations into the assassination continue, while the investigative team is working to uncover the motive for the attack and identify the perpetrators.
