New details have come to light after the tragic operation in Lozhan, Maliqi, where "Eagles" officer Enea Mekolli was killed and his colleague, Edison Adri, was injured during the attempt to capture 43-year-old Violand Braçellari.
Sources indicate that during the search of Braçellari's apartment, investigators found not only the Kalashnikov that was allegedly used in the attack on the police forces, but also a significant amount of combat ammunition. Radio communication devices similar to those used by the State Police, binoculars and drones, which are undergoing expertise to determine their use, have also been seized.
The same sources explained that on Wednesday, June 3, the day before the incident, the 43-year-old was reported to the police by the shepherd who had only employed him in his stables for 15 days. According to the report, Braçellari had threatened him with his life and refused to pay him for the work he had done.
Investigations have also revealed that Braçellari had a troubled past even earlier. In 2004, at the age of 21, he reported to the Armed Forces, but stayed only three days and then never returned to the unit. In this case too, sources explain that there was an open proceeding against him.
