From the meeting of the SP group, Prime Minister Edi Rama praised the role and contribution of AKSHI, describing it as a success story. While defending the former director of AKSHI who is under house arrest, Mirlinda Karçanaj, and the employees of this institution, he said that they have worked around the clock. He said that there was a rush to arrest her.
Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that people within the justice system must understand the harms of their power, focusing on the security measures taken against officials of several institutions.
"The director of AKSHI is under house arrest today, I don't want to say anything about the issue, but I want to say that this country cannot be a place where a proud institution becomes a platform to psychologically suffocate the engineers who, with the director at the helm, worked without hours. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be investigated, the opposite is true. People have the right to be presumed innocent and to be investigated as such.
What if Linda is completely innocent and not a criminal part of a structured group like the character who created the rush to arrest her, putting villas and cars on her back, when she doesn't even drive a car and doesn't have one. What does the state gain and what message do those who want to contribute to this state get? What if the director of KESH, under house arrest for months, is innocent, who loses and who gains in this? What if the same thing is true for 55 percent of those who are in prison and have not been tried?", he said.
