The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has held meetings with the staff of the Traffic Police Commissariat in Tirana, as well as with the heads of the Department of Public Security, the deputy directors for order in the regions and the heads of the road traffic sectors.

During these meetings, Hita requested maximum commitment from police structures to increase road safety and prevent any abusive acts in the field, emphasizing the change in control methods.

He gave a clear instruction to stop the practice of unreasonable stops on national highways, calling for the use of technology as the main alternative.

"No more stopping vehicles on national highways without reason, but use technology, police scanners, speed cameras and drones, as technology is the future. Administrative measures produced by these tools should be implemented in the system within a day," he said.

Another important focus was control in urban areas, where the director requested rigorous measures for violations that directly affect road safety and traffic.

He requested the establishment of working groups and the drafting of concrete plans to punish incorrect parking, dangerous maneuvers, noise from modified exhausts, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Hita also praised the reaction of citizens after a telegram sent earlier to the Traffic Police structures, considering it a clear message about the need to change the method of field control.

In the context of the tourist season and the increase in traffic on the roads, he called for increased attention to road safety near schools, as well as closer cooperation with other structures such as the General Patrols and the "Eagle" forces.

In conclusion, the Director General emphasized that the Traffic Police and all law enforcement services must be a model in behavior and professionalism towards citizens, guaranteeing a service with maximum integrity and high standards.
