The tragic event of the loss of life of 27-year-old Sibela Abedini has taken a complicated and shocking course, bringing successive developments that have deepened the mystery and pain surrounding this story. Initially, the Tirana Court imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on Altin Çoku, 39, suspected of distributing an intimate photo of the young woman, an action that, according to the Prosecution, caused her a serious psychological and emotional state, leading her to the extreme act.

Although Çoku denied the charges, claiming that the photo was published by another person, the evidence provided – including his phone and messages from the victim repeatedly asking him to remove the image – convinced the court to keep him in custody until the investigation is complete.

Sibela Abedini lost her life after jumping from the fourth floor of a building in Kamëz. She was the mother of a 2-year-old daughter and had been going through a difficult personal period, returning to her family after marital problems.
Meanwhile, family members claim that Sibela did not commit suicide, but was murdered.

According to them, psychological pressure, moral violence and a continuous form of persecution led to the grave tragedy, pointing the finger of accusation at Altin Çoku and demanding full justice.

The incident took another turn after the court's final decision, which sentenced Altin Çoku to 6 years in prison for "causing suicide," holding him responsible for the fatal consequences that followed the publication of intimate material.

Sibela's sister, Renata, in a direct communication on "With an Open Heart", with author and moderator Evis Ahmeti, has shared details of the serious event.

"We were at home, my mother, my sister and my niece. My mother was asleep, my sister and I were not. I was on the phone while Sibela was smoking a cigarette, bored. I asked her what was wrong and she said it would get better. She took a cigarette and went out to smoke in the hallway but it was getting late. My brother came and asked me where my sister was because he hadn't seen her in the hallway. When we went out, we saw her body downstairs, many people had gathered there.
That photo was a montage, my sister was thin, she wasn't healthy. She even had black hair, not like in the photo. The one in the photo is not Sibela.
"When we found her, she was alive, breathing, she was bleeding, she couldn't speak but was just crying from the pain she was in," she said.
