After the official voting hours for the elections for the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) closed, the counting process continued.

Voting began at 8:00 a.m., with the opening of 87 centers in all DP branches in the country, and closed at 7:00 p.m., after being postponed from the previously announced 6:00 p.m.

Only the historic leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha, was in the race, and he described the May 23 process as a "referendum" on the party's leadership.

Unlike previous intra-party electoral processes, this time the votes will be counted at the centers where voting took place and not at the DP headquarters.

During the pre-election period, the DP Election Commission excluded candidates who sought to run against Berisha, leaving only
his name.

After the voting ended, the vote counting process began. According to the results in the blue headquarters, Berisha received 448 votes, 10 against, while 10 were invalid.
