The protesters stopped near the Namazgja Mosque and then fled towards Elbasan Street.
A series of political chants were released from the crowd, including "The end has come!" and "Ethnic Albania!", "Unite students, the nation calls us."
The march is taking place in protest against the stopping of a convoy of Albanians from the diaspora in Niksic, Montenegro, who were traveling to Albania to join the protest.
