The Elbasan Court has ordered the security measure of "prison arrest" for Poli Boriç, suspected of attempting to murder a citizen with a firearm, in an incident that occurred in a bar in Elbasan.
The court hearing for the assessment of the security measure took place today, August 18, 2026, at 13:00 PM, where Boriç appeared before the court to be informed of the personal security measure against him.
According to official data, the incident occurred in a bar in Elbasan, where a conflict between people escalated and the suspect, according to the indictment, is suspected of using a firearm in an attempt to take the life of a citizen.
After the incident, the authorities made it possible to detain Poli Borić, who will now continue to remain in custody, in accordance with the court's decision, while investigations to fully clarify the circumstances continue.
The hearing was on the subject of “Validation of detention and determination of security measures.” During the judicial review, the court analyzed the circumstances of the incident, the suspicions raised by the prosecution, and the materials administered up to this stage of the investigation.
The prosecution has requested a security measure that guarantees the continuation of the investigation and the avoidance of any risk that may be associated with the suspect, while the defense has presented its position before the court.
At the end of the hearing, the court imposed the measure of "prison arrest" on Boriç, who was defended by a lawyer.
Despite the decision to impose a security measure, the investigation into the incident has not been completed. Authorities are continuing to work on fully documenting the conflict and determining the circumstances that led to the use of the firearm. Boriç, for his part, has stated that he did not intend to kill her but to intimidate her.
As part of the investigation, it is expected that the evidence collected, the testimonies of the people who were present at the bar, as well as any other elements that may help shed light on the dynamics of the event, will be analyzed.
Boriç will remain in "prison arrest" while the investigative and judicial procedures continue.
