The father of former President Ilir Meta passed away at the age of 83.
Former President Meta has made a reaction on Facebook, while emphasizing that the ceremony for the last residence will take place tomorrow, June 2, at 12:00, in his hometown of Çepan, Skrapar.

It is with deep sorrow that I share with you the sad news, for me and our entire family, of the passing of our wonderful father, Rexhep Meta.
In respect of his will, the funeral ceremony will take place tomorrow, June 2, at 12:00, in his birthplace in Çepan, Skrapar.
Meanwhile, for all friends and well-wishers, the family will hold a condolence reception on June 3rd in Tirana, the exact location and time will be communicated to you below.
The former president is expected to be escorted tomorrow to the village of Çepan in Skrapar.
It is learned that the permit for Ilir Meta has been approved by the Special Prosecution Office, while the authorities have taken measures to carry out the escort in accordance with the relevant procedures.
We recall that the former president has been in prison since October 21, 2024, when he was arrested by the BKH.
