The Ministry of Defense informs that during the last 24 hours, 45 fires have been reported in the country, of which 12 continue to be active and another is under monitoring.
72 firefighting vehicles and 839 operational forces have been engaged in the firefighting operations, while 250 Armed Forces personnel, five helicopters and two Air Force "Air Tractor" aircraft have also been involved in their support. Currently, 167 Armed Forces personnel, three helicopters and two "Air Tractor" aircraft continue to operate in the field.
In Dajt, near the Selita water plant and above the Qafë-Molla tunnels, the operation to extinguish the fire in the pine forest continues. The forces of the MZSH and ADZM are working on the ground, supported by two Air Force helicopters. According to the authorities, there is no danger to residential areas.
In Priska e Madhe, the fire has spread towards Gurra, Farka and Lundra. Ground forces continue the intervention, while the operation is also being supported by the air, with the aim of bringing the situation under control.
Another active hotbed is in Drenie–Lofkend–Ngracije, in the Patos–Mallakastër area. The operation is continuing with firefighting forces and local structures, supported by 30 Armed Forces personnel and an ambulance. Three firefighting vehicles, 15 personnel and 25 municipal forces have also been deployed to the scene.
In Krujë, the fire in the Abaze neighborhood remains active and the intervention is being supported by the Armed Forces and air assets. There are 57 members of the Armed Forces, support vehicles and Air Force helicopters on the ground, while the priority remains the protection of residential areas. In Krastë and Halil, the ADZM operations, municipal structures and 58 military personnel with six vehicles continue. Currently, there is no reported danger to homes.
In Përmet, the intervention continues in two hot spots, on Mount Nëmerçka above Biovizhda and on Mount Dhëmbel above Badilonjë. The firefighting and municipal forces are supported by 25 and 30 members of the Armed Forces, respectively. The difficult mountainous terrain is making the intervention difficult, but according to the authorities, the hot spots do not pose a danger to residential areas.
A large-scale operation is underway in Gurë-Lurë, Dibër municipality. The Ministry of Defense, municipal forces, State Police, forestry service, ADZM, AKMC, civil emergency structures and volunteers are engaged in the field, supported by 50 Armed Forces personnel and two "Air Tractor" aircraft.
In the Morava Mountains, in the Devoll municipality, the work of the MZSH forces and the forest service continues in an area with a pine forest, while no danger to residential areas is reported. In Mirdita, the hotbeds in Valcë-Tenë and Trojë remain active, where in addition to local forces and volunteers, Armed Forces personnel and vehicles have also been engaged. Meanwhile, the hotbed in Vilëz i Kurbinit has been placed under monitoring after the intervention of ground forces and an AF helicopter.
In Vau i Dejës, work continues to extinguish a fire in an area with a pine forest, where the MZSH and municipal forces are intervening, supported by a firefighting vehicle from the Armed Forces.
AKMC and the structures of the Civil Protection system continue to monitor and coordinate operations throughout the country, both from the ground and from the air. The priority of the authorities remains the protection of the lives of citizens and homes, as well as the isolation and extinguishing of active outbreaks as soon as possible.
