The preliminary round of talks between Israel and Lebanon has concluded in Washington.
Israel's ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, and his Lebanese counterpart, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, were hosted for talks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said the meeting represented a "historic opportunity".
But he warned that diplomats are working against "decades of history and complexities."
The negotiation talks lasted approximately two and a half hours.
Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon, have continued to launch attacks on each other during the two-week ceasefire agreed to by the US and Iran.
