Former prosecutor Eugen Beçi has stated that there are no "untouchable files" in the Albanian justice system and that investigations have reached the highest levels of power.

Guest on the show "This Week" IN News24Beçi said that SPAK has targeted senior local and executive government officials, including former important officials, including former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

"There are no untouchable files! We have seen that the highest levels of local and executive government officials have been hit. The former ones have called them. It is difficult to determine if there are people who are not touchable from criminal proceedings. The files are being developed, we have gone to the deputy prime minister, the ministers, we have not yet gone to Rama. Historically, politics has attempted to enter the justice system in a brutal way to gain control. SPAK has created fear of politics. Even when they are hit by SPAK, they say we are being hit politically. The fact that politicians from both sides claim that they are being hit politically every time they are prosecuted shows that we are moving towards ending impunity. We have not seen any red lines, there may be some long traffic lights, but there are no red lines. Selectivity by SPAK has been accused by both sides as if there is and it seems that both sides are doing it intentionally to lose public trust," he said.
