Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the process of Albania's integration into the European Union is progressing based on objective assessments by the European Commission, which, according to him, has determined that the country's tasks have been fulfilled at this stage.

He dismissed claims of political blockages in the process, calling them baseless. "Saying that it was blocked by X or Y is like selling air. Whoever believes that air can be bought, should sell it," he said in ironic tones.

Rama stressed that EU integration is a process that requires continuous work and not pre-written guarantees. According to the Prime Minister, the assessment of the European Commission, which treats the process objectively and not politically, is important.

"Today in Brussels, Albania is not negotiating, but the Commission. The EC considers Albania's tasks for this phase and for the intermediate milestones fulfilled. And it is discussing with the member states. Saying that it was blocked by X or Y is selling air. Whoever believes that air is bought, should sell it! This is a process that requires study. Guarantees, it's like saying when you go to a war and they say what guarantees do you have that you will win the battle. But everything is won by trying, there are no written guarantees. For us, what the EC says is important. It looks at the process objectively, not politically. When the EC says Albania has fulfilled them, we wait. We continue working in all directions," he said.
